A transformation is headed to

San Antonio, Texas on December 8!

We're excited to initiate a community-driven redesign of the Ella Austin Community Center's outdoor court for the next year. The vision involves fostering creativity and collaboration among residents. From ground murals and improved seating to shaded areas and potential flea market spaces, we're reimagining how the community interacts in this space. While the unveiling is set for December 8th, our aspiration is for this revitalization to inspire continuous community engagement and gatherings in the future.

Together with you, District 2, The Better Block Foundation, WestCare Texas Foundation, and Project Safe Neighborhoods is working to bring these ideas to life and make San Antonio a more vibrant place to live, work, and gather as a community.

An outdoor court of the Ella Austin Community Center is set to come alive this December with a temporary demonstration of how a community space can be activated by the WestCare Texas in partnership with the Better Block Foundation. Through a demonstration of placemaking, the team will work with the community to bring to life their vision of a more vibrant and engaging public space.

The project is scheduled to launch early December and features may include public art, live music, performances, workshops, and local vendors. In the coming weeks, the team will engage with the community to gather feedback and ideas to incorporate into the design of the park.
