We are always excited to see a new Better Block popping up, especially when it’s by a group that has done it before. The folks in Baton Rouge created a Better Block in 2013, with a great deal of success. (See their comprehensive report here.) They’re back at it again, this time focusing on the Perkins Overpass. Their goal is to transform the overpass into a pedestrian-friendly destination by addressing landscaping, crosswalk needs, and parking.
With a robust group of volunteers and sponsors, the group is well on its way with planning for the event, which will take place April 23-24. If you would like to get involved, go here.
