We are very excited about embRACE theSTREET Better Block in Riverside, just northeast of downtown Fort Worth. The community garden will be completed this weekend. Pop up shops, a pocket dog park, art, music, food, and arts activities for all ages will fill the street during Fort Worth Art Dealers Association’s Fall Gallery Night. The celebration continues Sunday with a drum circle at 11 AM and a historic walking tour at 1 PM.

[…] Debbie is an advocate for DIY and has talked about embRACE the Street.  She worked for Disney and Web Imagineering and likes an art component in everything she has done.   Build a better block brings everything together and is a temporary action to show what the community  could look like.  Supplies for this concept were donated at first by volunteers and at times illegally borrowed, now they are having city funded events.  She emphasized that the community needs to be involved in order to get a project like this going and I agree that by having the community members take part in their revitalization a true reflection of desire can be realized.  To see the impact embRACE the Street is having in the Fort Worth area visit http://betterblock.org/fort-worth-better-block-embrace-the-street-set-for-sept-8th-and-9th/.
